Neighborhood
Biddle Street
Biddle Street is a compact rowhouse neighborhood with Luzerne and Biddle parkland, near the industrial heritage of Broadway East.
Biddle Street’s neighborhood identity is smaller than the east–west street whose name it shares. Live Baltimore describes a compact residential area of rowhomes. The City map places it among Berea, Broadway East, Middle East, Milton-Montford and Madison-Eastend, making it part of a closely connected group of east Baltimore communities.
A small park within the blocks
The City’s parks planning inventory lists Luzerne and Biddle at 2601 East Biddle Street. City park geometry also places the Luzerne Avenue park area within the neighborhood. This is a local open-space landmark, distinct from the much larger Clifton and Patterson parks elsewhere in east Baltimore.
Industrial history nearby
In neighboring Broadway East, Baltimore Food Hub’s site history describes pumping-station buildings completed in 1891 on East Oliver Street. Their later food-enterprise reuse adds context to the mix of residential blocks and former industrial properties around Biddle Street. The Food Hub is an operating business site; a scheduled event or appointment determines interior access.
